Singin' - Writin' Songs - Tellin' Stories

BIO
Growing up in Oklahoma, mom bought me an old Kay Guitar, a chord book, and a tuning fork around the age of 12, hoping I could learn to play on my own. My parents couldn't afford guitar lessons, and I felt pretty blessed just to have my own guitar to be honest. Unfortunately, the 70's didn't prove very promising at transforming a young kid into a very good self-taught guitarist. I could play a few chords, licks, or riffs, but never really learned how to play anything in its entirety being my own teacher.
Frustration always ensued, followed by losing interest and putting the guitar down for good once high school started. Then it was off to a career in the military, starting a family, and getting wrapped up in the whirlwind of life. I still had a love for music and guitars and would try to pick it back up every now and again, but I seemed to repeat the same frustrating dead end guitar noodling pattern I was stuck in as a kid.
That was, until the summer of 2024, where a simple act of kindness from one of my lifelong legendary music hero's would change everything!
